Respondus Tools for Learning

For Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 UW Oshkosh instructors will have access to Respondus LockDown browser and Monitor. Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor allows instructors to prevent cheating during proctored online exams and fully-automate online proctoring for remote testing.

 Instructor Tips and Tricks

Zoom Recordings

Meetings recorded in Zoom get auto deleted after 180 days. If you want to keep those recordings you must download the recording and upload it into the Kaltura / My Media media management tool. Kaltura will keep the recording for the foreseeable future.

Emergency Canvas Enrollments

Sometimes theres a dire need for an enrollment to appear in Canvas. If an instructor encounters an emergency please contact the UWO Service Desk (920-424-3020) or email: helpdesk@uwosh.edu. I can get someone into a Canvas course quickly however I cannot bypass a NetID requirement. You MUST have a NetID before a user can be added to an SIS course.

Zoom Login

Every 180 days your Zoom account university license will automatically convert to “Zoom Meetings Basic”. The basic license puts a time limit on how long you can use a Zoom room. To avoid or fix this problem please login to the Wisconsin Zoom Dashboard. Logging into this website with your NetID will refresh your Zoom license and you’ll be good for another 180 days.

Note: Accessing Zoom via your Canvas course navigation link does not renew your license.
