The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business will host its third-annual Networking Night from 6-8 a.m. Sept. 17 at EAA in Oshkosh. The expected attendance is more than 800 students, faculty and employer representatives.

The event will teach students how to professionally interact with prospective employers. While employers can use this opportunity to scope out talent, students also will gain valuable networking skills.

“I’m excited to attend the College of Business networking night because it will help me to learn how to socialize with professionals in a public setting,” said Kristin Real, a senior marketing major.

Students like Real will be able to interact with organizations seeking interns and graduates in their fields of study. The ballroom will be organized by major — accounting, finance and business law, human resource management, management information systems and supply chain/operations management.

For the first time, the College of Business Networking Night will feature a pre-event Faculty/Employer Social, while the undergraduate students are in their career advising sessions, so that employers can get to know faculty members, who often are influential in advising students on career options.

The College has raised more than $30,000 through sponsorships provided by attending businesses that support the purpose.

Sponsors include the following: Target, Cintas Schenck Business Solutions, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Society Insurance, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, U.S. Bank, Heartland Business Systems, Kohler, Magnum Products, Miles Kimball, Miller Electric, Sherwin Williams, Aerotek, Affinity Health System, Associated Bank, Bemis, Clifton Gunderson, Coating Excellence, College Pro Painters, Direct Supply, Grant Thornton, J.F.
