Blog Entry for Week Ending February 3

This week, I received the assignment to set up the Virtual Machine we will be using for Plone in the class. This was easily done, since I already had it (being the author of it). However, when I tried following the Training book's Chapter 4 tutorial on setting up Plone, I encountered several errors. I uninstalled it, tried again with Plone's official installation instructions, and the setup was successful. I was able to access its online presence in the Virtual Machine.

My goals for next week are to continue with the Plone Training and master the contents of Chapters 5 and 6, so I can be more prepared to use Plone for the semester project--more information about which will be presented in class on the upcoming Monday. It has been interesting to start learning a little bit about Plone, and it seems somewhat overwhelming so far since it has so many potential applications, but I am excited to learn more.
