Online Video Chat
Meet online in real time via Zoom. Works best if you are unable to come to the Writing Center and want to ask questions in real time. Good for brainstorming or understanding an assignment, as well as for getting feedback on a draft. Available to all UWO students.
Please Keep In Mind
- Make sure your Zoom application is up-to-date prior to your appointment, as this can cause delays in getting into your appointment.
What YOU Do
- Log into Navigate, click “Schedule an Appointment” on the right, then select “Writing Center,” choose either 60 or 30 minutes (select which time best fits your schedule). Under how would you like to meet, select Virtual.

What WE Do
- Add your draft to the chat/ video chat screen
- When we see you are viewing the session, we will start the audio/ video chat.
- From here, the sessions operate in a similar way as the Face-to-Face sessions.

Hours for Appointments:
Monday: 9am-5pm in-person
Tuesday: 9am-5pm in-person; 6-8pm online
Wednesday: 9am-5pm in-person; 5-7pm online
Thursday: 9am-5pm in-person; 6-8pm online
Friday: 9am-4pm in-person
Sunday: 4pm-8pm online
Drop-in Hours (no appointment necessary):
Tuesday: 3-5pm in the Writing Center (Student Success Center)
Wednesday: 4:30-6:30pm Polk Library Quick Stop Table
Thursday: 3-5pm in the Writing Center (Student Success Center)
