Our Staff Roles

The following are roles our staff serve in the Writing Center. Click on the position title to see bios of the staff in each role.

Our Writing Consultants staff the Writing Center during our hours of operation in the 14-week, interim, and summer sessions. They work with writers who elect to come to the WC for help with projects for courses in any subject or discipline or with writing not connected to a class. They participate in extensive, ongoing training throughout the academic year.

Our Writing Mentors offer regular, targeted support to writers in specific courses or programs at the university. They, too, participate in ongoing training throughout the semester.

Our Graduate Student Intern works as a writing consultant in the Writing Center and provides administrative support to the Writing Center director. This semester, the Graduate Student Intern is working to develop greater support for graduate students in the Writing Center and to meet the needs of creative writers.

Our Public Relations Staff, comprising campus interns and a STEP student, work to promote the Writing Center effectively to the university community.

Our Director provides administrative support to the Writing Center and also teaches in the Department of English.
