Brand Review Process

To help you better align your marketing and communications efforts with the institutional image, University Marketing and Communications provides brand review of marketing materials you may create for external audiences.

To submit documents to UMC for brand review, please e-mail a PDF or jpeg file of your project (Microsoft Publisher and Word files are not accepted) to brandreview@uwosh.eduIt’s helpful to provide some context for what is being submitted, for example, the intended audience and goal. Please allow approximately two working days, depending on the size and complexity of the document, for the review process, including making any necessary changes prior to printing.

When you submit your communication materials for brand review, each piece will be evaluated using the “brand review” model shown below. It will be beneficial to review this list prior to submitting documents to UMC for brand review.

Does my marketing piece:

  1. Use the University logo correctly?
  2. Use University key messaging?
  3. Use an active campaign, if applicable (Admissions, Graduate Studies, Athletics)?
  4. Use brand colors appropriately?
  5. Use University brand fonts?
  6. Use current University photography?
  7. Use the correct medium for its audience?
  8. Show a call to action?
  9. Include the Notice of Nondiscrimination and Accreditation statements, if applicable?

If you answered “yes” to all of these questions, your publication should pass the brand review process its first time through. If you answered “no” to any questions, please consider how to incorporate the appropriate edits into your piece, or contact UMC at 424-2442 to request assistance.
