In its commitment to champion sustainability in its many forms, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will celebrate Earth Week April 20-25. Earth Day, an international celebration intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the environment, is April 22.

UW Oshkosh students, faculty and staff as well as members of the greater community are invited to participate in “green”-themed events on campus throughout the week, covering such topics as clean water, conservation, sustainable foods and sustainability on campus.

“Earth Week presents an opportunity for the University to further promote the importance of sustainable living on campus and beyond,” said Almut Beringer, sustainability director at UW Oshkosh.

UW Oshkosh became the first university in the nation to declare itself a Fair Trade University in September. For more about UW Oshkosh’s sustainability initiatives and accomplishments, visit www.uwosh.edu/sustainability.
