The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will host two events Tuesday, Oct. 14, in advance of the upcoming elections.

  • UW Oshkosh College Democrats will bring former presidential candidate John Kerry to campus to encourage students to vote early. Sen. Kerry will speak at 12:30 p.m. in Reeve Memorial Union courtyard (between Reeve and Clemens Hall) and then lead a walk to Oshkosh City Hall, where students and local residents can vote absentee.
  • State Senate and Assembly candidates from Senate District 18 and Assembly districts 52, 53, 54, 55 and 56 will discuss health issues during an open forum from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Reeve Union Theatre. Speakers include social work professor Karen Aspenson, addressing mental health parity; Maureen Busalacchi, executive director of SmokeFree Wisconsin; and the National Federation of Independent Businesses’ Bill Smith, addressing universal healthcare.
