The Northeast Wisconsin (NEW) Manufacturing Alliance funded a Northeast Wisconsin Manufacturing Vitality survey. The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Business Success Center administrated the survey. The results of the survey will be presented at the press conference in Reeve Memorial Union on Feb. 3 at 10:30 a.m.
The survey includes the responses from 179 manufacturing companies that had 3 million dollars or more in sales and had at least 25 employees. The responses reveal projected 2011 workforce needs, capital/modernization plans and business growth/sales projections. The survey results show that the manufacturing community is much healthier than many might expect; however, there is one concern manufacturers are facing that within the next 12-24 months may be a significant issue that will greatly impact our region.
The NEW Manufacturing Alliance is a group of manufacturers, working with educational institutions, workforce development boards, chambers of commerce, and state organizations to promote manufacturing in the 18-county New North region. The more than 60 manufacturers that comprise the Alliance employ over 30 percent of the northeast Wisconsin manufacturing workforce.

- Paul Jadin, Secretary of Commerce
- Jeff Pallini, President of Fosber America and Chair of the NEW Manufacturing Alliance
- Dr. Richard Wells, Chancellor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh
- Jerry Murphy, Executive Director of New North
