The University of Wisconsin System Presidential Search Committee is welcoming help from the UW Oshkosh community with the selection of the next UW System president.
Jim Johnsen, who recently was announced as the unanimous finalist for the position, will take part in a series of virtual interviews June 9. That includes a 90-minute forum hosted by the search committee in which members of the greater UW System community are invited to take part.
The video conversation begins at 10:15 a.m. on the UW System presidential search website. Participants must register via the WebEx Campus Forum link. Those interested in submitting questions can do so through the search website. The most frequently asked questions will be used.
Johnsen has been president of the University of Alaska System since 2015. Along with the forum, he’ll spend parts of the June 9 meeting with UW System chancellors, administration leadership and the Board of Regents.
UW System President Ray Cross announced in October 2019 his intention to retire, capping off a 42-year career in higher education. President Cross, who is the seventh full-time UW System president, will continue to serve in that role until his successor is found after a national search.
