The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Department of Literacy and Language will continue its annual Children’s Literature Conference this year with an exciting lineup of authors, including Avi.
Set to take place Saturday, Oct. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Sage Hall, the Children’s Literature Conference is designed to bring K-12 teachers, literacy leaders, school administrators and librarians together to enjoy four keynote presentations from authors of books for children and young adults.
Literacy and language department chair Cathy Toll said the conference is unique because it provides participants with the opportunity to engage with world-renowned authors.
“It gives participants a chance to listen to authors describe how they write, why they write and why their books matter for readers,” Toll said.
This year’s lineup includes award-winning and best-selling authors Avi, Tonya Bolden, Oge Mora and Gary Schmidt.
The Children’s Literature Conference is for adults. Signed books will be available for purchase at the event. For more information, contact the Literacy and Language Department at litlang@uwosh.edu or at (920) 424-4444.
