The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley will hold its annual spring Commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 20, in the Fieldhouse, 1478 Midway Road, Menasha.
Dr. Mark Mone, UW-Milwaukee Chancellor will be the commencement speaker. Mone has served as Chancellor since 2014 and has been a member of the UW-Milwaukee faculty since 1989, serving for more than 15 years as the associate dean for executive education and business engagement. He has taught courses in managing people; team building and communications; behavioral research methods and human resource management. His industry background includes more than ten years of management in the hospitality and food service industry.
Dana Sickinger, of Brillion, has been named the student of the year at UW-Fox Valley for 2015-16 and will be recognized during the ceremony. Sickinger works as a writing peer consultant in the Writing Pad on campus and helps coach the girls’ soccer team at Fox Valley Lutheran High School. She was selected from those nominated for this honor by the Scholarship & Academic Actions Committee at the university. Her future plans include transferring to UW-Stevens Point to pursue a bachelor’s degree in speech and linguistics pathology with a minor in Spanish.
UW-Fox Valley graduates at the spring Commencement ceremony will be awarded the Associate of Arts and Science Degree.
Several students will receive their bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering from UW-Platteville during the ceremony. This is one of the collaborative bachelor’s degree completion programs offered at UW-Fox Valley. These programs enable students to complete a bachelor’s degree from a four-year university at the local campus.
A reception for graduates and their families will be held in the Union following the ceremony.
