What led you to choose your program or major?
I have always wanted to be a teacher. I am good with people, and I feel like I will be a great teacher.
Why did you decide to become a University of Wisconsin student at UW-Fox Valley?
I decided to go back to school because I wanted to do something meaningful. I wasn’t happy where I was in life, and at the end of the day, I have always wanted to be a teacher. I needed a new start, and UW-Fox Valley was the closest option.
Is there someone at UW-Fox Valley who made a difference in your life or inspired you?
Many people have been a huge help to me at UW-Fox Valley. If it wasn’t for Tina Koch I wouldn’t have been in school last semester. She made sure I was able to get in on time and continues to help me pick the right classes so I can transfer to UW Oshkosh on time.
Susan Rabideau is a fantastic person and teacher. She makes speech class fun and comfortable. Her teaching method made it easy to get to know and become comfortable with everyone in the class. I will absolutely use some of her teaching styles when I become a teacher.
Tammy Ladwig inspires me every day with her teachings and personality. She is an exceptional teacher, and she always makes you think about how others feel, learn and think. Anytime I need help I know I can go to Tammy. She has made me a better student and all around person. I aspire to be the type of teacher that Tammy is.
What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming UW-Fox Valley student?
Work hard and take care of business. If you need help, reach out to someone. There are plenty of people at UW-Fox Valley who are more than happy to help you.
When not in class or studying, what keeps you busy?
If I’m not at school or work, then I am relaxing with friends and family.
What are your plans after UW-Fox Valley?
I plan to transfer to UW Oshkosh to get a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
