What led you to choose your program or major?

I was drawn to business management while studying my freshman year. I originally wanted to go down the engineering path for my degree. However, while working through the general education course requirements; I found out that I enjoy working with engineers, not as an engineer.

Why did you decide to become a University of Wisconsin student at UWFox?

Paying for college is a big consideration, and UWFox’s affordable tuition and many scholarship opportunities make higher education affordable. The attention that the faculty and staff give to each of the students supports a great learning environment. A student population of about 1,500 allows you to have a professor teaching you, not a teaching assistant.

Is there someone at UWFox who made a difference in your life or inspired you?

All of the professors are caring and helpful in my pursuit of knowledge. They force you to think of topics in new and exciting ways.

What is one piece of advice you would give to an incoming UWFox student?

My advice would be to go to class and take advantage of office hours of both professors and tutors; they are here to help you. Professors and tutors can assist you one-on-one with working through your questions better during their office hours.

Describe something unexpected that happened here at UWFox.

Something unexpected that happened here at UWFox is the friendships that I received. When I first started school here, I was planning to focus solely on my schoolwork. However, a friend convinced me to join CRU. Then, I joined Business Club and I eventually joined Student Government. With all of the 33 clubs on campus ranging from Business Club to Ballroom Dance Club, there is bound to be something that peaks your interest.

When not in class or studying, what keeps you busy?

For fun, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. Whether we are making dinner and watching movies, going thrift shopping or grabbing a quick lunch, as long as I am among great company with good conversation, I am happy. I also love to sing and I stay active by exercising and playing a sport whether its basketball, football or soccer.

What are your plans after UWFox?

I will be completing my Associate Degree with an Emphasis in Engineering. I will be transferring to UW Oshkosh for my bachelor’s degree in business management.
