Reynolds Nugent Wedding

The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac Prairie Theater stage was set for a once in a lifetime performance, but it was not your typical stage setting.

Two former UW-Fond du Lac students, Dan Nugent and Gina Reynolds, met and fell in love while part of the cast and crew of the university’s 2010 play “Almost, Maine” by John Cariani. They returned to the Prairie Theater stage for their recent wedding ceremony.

During the production of “Almost, Maine” in which Nugent was an actor and Reynolds was a stage manager, they spent many hours together working on the set and staging details for the show. Nugent said he knew instantly after proposing to Reynolds in June of 2012 that they should hold their wedding nuptials in the Prairie Theater where they met and fell in love. “We liked the idea of building our own set for the wedding and thought it would be a cool twist on a traditional wedding.”

Their wedding party included several other UW-Fond du Lac students and alumni – Nick Robotka and Zach Towne served as groomsmen; Haley Nugent served as a bridesmaid; Jon Snell and Ty Trainor served as ushers; and Jacob Lefeber served as sound/light technician and guestbook attendee.

Reynolds is currently a full time student at UW Madison Law School and Nugent is a retail store manager in Madison. They both credit UW-Fond du Lac professors Richard Gustin and Eric Boos for having a big impact on their relationship and their education.

“They both taught us how to think in new ways,” said Nugent. “We also loved hanging out with friends in the University Center Commons where our dreams and inspirations were the biggest. We love how far we have come; however, we always miss the times we had at UW-Fond du Lac.”
