The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac will offer a phlebotomy technician exam preparation program Apr. 2 through June 6 on Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-9:30pm and on Saturdays, 8:30am – 12:30pm

This 90 hour phlebotomy technician program prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Classroom and lab work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. Students will be prepared to sit for the NHA-CPT exam. This program also offers a foundation to become American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) certified as well.

Phlebotomists may work in hospitals, laboratories, doctor’s offices, blood banks, insurance companies and at sites where donors give blood for transfusion. Phlebotomists can work at the scenes of emergencies or go from house to house to take blood samples from bedridden patients.

The course fee including texts is $1,599. To register or for more information call (920) 929-1155 or go to
