Three UW-Fond du Lac students were honored for their performances in the university’s recent spring theater production.
Cassandra Rusch and Alan Drake have been nominated to participate in the Irene Ryan acting scholarship competition at the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) Regional Festival in January 2016. Student musician Brendan Curran will receive a KCACTF Certificate of Merit.
The students appeared in “A Sparrow Falls” written by Professor Richard Gustin. The Irene Ryan Scholarships provide recognition, honor and financial assistance to outstanding student performers wishing to pursue further education. These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of the late Irene Ryan who is best remembered for her portrayal of the lovable and feisty “Granny” in “The Beverly Hillbillies.” The Irene Ryan Foundation awards 19 regional awards and two fellowships annually.
