The UW-Fond du Lac Student Activity Committee (SAC) recently sponsored a Build-A-Buddy event where students stuffed over 200 animals and donated them to the St. Agnes Hospital Emergency Department. They are given to patients in crisis situations and when they are not feeling well.
“It really does make a world of difference when you can calm someone’s fears or anxiety,” said Renee Weier, director of emergency services at St. Agnes Hospital – Agnesian Healthcare.
Shown with some of the stuffed animals in the lobby of St. Agnes Hospital are (left to right): Renee Weier, director of emergency services at St. Agnes Hospital and SAC members Natia Higgs, vice-president; Will Wilke, publicity co-chair; Lindsey McDermott, committee member; Jennifer Chaltry, treasurer; Emily Belling, president; Izzy Schwalbe, secretary and Kathy Strong Langolf, UW-Fond du Lac special events coordinator and advisor to the group.
