Allen Buechel, Fond du Lac County Executive, is the recipient of the 2016 Friend and Advocate Award presented recently by University of Wisconsin Colleges and University of Wisconsin-Extension Chancellor Cathy Sandeen.

The Chancellor’s Friend and Advocate Award honors individuals or organizations outside the UW Colleges and UW-Extension for support to the outreach mission of one or both institutions.

Buechel was recognized for his support of both UW Colleges and UW-Extension. Since being elected as Fond du Lac County Executive in 1993, Sandeen said Buechel has consistently placed the needs of UW-Fond du Lac and UW-Extension Fond du Lac County high on his daily agenda and long range vision.

Sandeen added, “UW Colleges and UW-Extension employees and partners work statewide to provide innovative education and services to students, business owners, farmers and citizens in every industry across Wisconsin. The Chancellor’s Awards recognize those individuals who’ve gone above and beyond in extending our mission to the corners of the state.”
