Construction of the Vue Campus student housing facility on the UW-Fond du Lac campus is running ahead of schedule and expected to be complete before the end of July. According to Steve Harms, director of pre-construction services for Tri North Builders, contractors have been working on interior finishing and exterior landscaping will begin after completion of sidewalks within the next week.

Harms adds that interior finishing happens from the top down and flooring is complete on the third floor with work on the second floor ongoing. “The last of the painting is currently being done on the first floor,” said Harms. “Cabinets are being installed, as are the bathroom sinks, toilets and kitchen sinks.”

The campus land and UW-Fond du Lac buildings are owned by Fond du Lac County, which has entered into a public/private partnership for construction of the student housing facility with Tri North Builders, Inc. The architect is Excel Engineering.

Vue Campus housing will have two and four bedroom fully furnished apartment-style suites featuring individual bedrooms with keyed lock; a washer and dryer in every apartment; high-speed internet; and individual leases. A 24-hour fitness center, study rooms and community rooms are available in the facility. Because this is a managed student apartment community, there will be onsite resident assistants and resident life activities.

BMOC, Inc., a company that specializes in student housing properties, will manage the facility following completion of construction. It is open to students attending UW-Fond du Lac and other surrounding colleges and universities.Living room in apartment unit

Interested college students can tours of a model apartment Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and on Saturday by appointment at 325 Campus Dr., Fond du Lac.
