Open to all area high school students preparing to take ACT test for college admission
The University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac will offer an ACT Strategies Prep course this spring. The course will consist of four sessions taught by UW Colleges faculty and is open to all area students regardless of which college they plan to attend.
The upcoming ACT preparation session will be offered four Saturday mornings, 8 a.m.-noon, on Feb. 22 and Mar. 1, 8 and 15. Early registration is recommended due to limited space.
At the first meeting students will take an ACT pre-test to identify areas of both strength and need. The second and third class meetings will include a review of the pretest results in English/reading/writing and math and science. The last class meeting will include an ACT post-test, wrap-up and questions. The pre and post ACT tests are tabulated and the students receive error analysis reports.
Previous ACT prep participants indicate they found it helpful to take an ACT preparation course from college professors, benefited by participating in a pre-test as a testing benchmark and found it useful that the course was taught in alignment with the ACT Prep text.
To receive the full benefit of this course it is important to attend all class sessions. Please note that registering for this ACT preparation course does not register students for the ACT test.
The course fee is $154 ($149 if registering online) and includes “Cracking the ACT,” a 532-page study guide; administration of pre-test and post-test complete with results; and University of Wisconsin faculty instruction. To register or for more information call (920) 929-1155 or sign up and pay online.
