The UW Oshkosh Student Nurses Association (OSNA) third annual Celebration of Life Dinner for cancer survivors will be held in the Reeve Memorial Ballroom at the Reeve Memorial Union on Nov. 2, 2010. The evening will start at 5:30 p.m. with a reception and dinner will follow at 6:00 p.m. The menu for the complimentary dinner is: Caesar salad, chicken with Madeira sauce, dessert and beverage. Complimentary parking is available on Nov. 2 in campus lots 13, 15, 32 and 34 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
The evening is designed to provide an opportunity for community members dealing with cancer and their caregivers to enjoy a special evening out while learning about living with cancer.
Following dinner, College of Nursing Assistant Dean and Graduate Program Director Dr. Sharon Chappy will discuss her research about the meaning of hope and social support in patients receiving chemotherapy. Following Dr. Chappy’s presentation, 2010 Miss Oshkosh and cancer survivor, Shana Pawlowicz will speak about her experience with cancer.
