While the big football game and activities at Tent City might come to mind first, Homecoming actually starts a full eight days before. University of Wisconsin Oshkosh students have a week of Homecoming events to look forward to:

Oct. 16:  Hands on Oshkosh — Reeve Ballroom

Once a semester UW Oshkosh hosts “Hands on Oshkosh,” a program where students, faculty and staff come together to go out into the community to volunteer and make a difference. The event will be taking place Saturday, Oct. 16, at 8:30 a.m. and will be completed by 1 p.m.., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Oct. 17:  Window Painting — Reeve Marketplace

Oct. 18:  Hall/House & Office Decorations Judging

Oct. 19:  Talent Show Rehearsals — Reeve Ballroom

Oct. 20:  Major Comedian, Ralphie May — Albee Hall

Sponsored by Reeve Union Board, Ralphie May from the debut season of “Last Comic Standing” will perform in Albee Hall from 8 to 10 p.m.  Tickets are available at the SLIC desk in Reeve — $10 for students and $20 for the general public.

Congratulations for our 2010 Homecoming Court finalists — King: Nathan Harris, Andy Kieckhafer, Kevin Kropp, Eric Salzwedel; Queen: Kati Hinds, Shino Iwashita, Jessica Puhl, Megan Schildbach, Danielle Schisel. Voting online will open on Wednesday, Oct. 20, and close at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22.
