The Donhauser Estate Art Sale, featuring original Paul Donhauser paintings and ceramics plus an extensive collection from his students and contemporaries, is set for 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 7-9 in Oshkosh.

A portion of the sales from the event, to be held at 5724 I Ah Maytah Road, will benefit the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Paul S. Donhauser Art-Student Scholarship.

Donhauser, who passed away in 2007, was an art professor at UW Oshkosh from 1965 to 2005. He won state, national and international awards for his ceramics, paintings and mixed-media work throughout his career. In 1983, he was awarded the John McNaughton Rosebush Professorship.

Donhauser was the first American to win the Grand Prize at the International Ceramics Competition in Faenza, Italy. His work is owned and displayed by countless private collectors as well as the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and the Prudential Plaza in Chicago, Illinois.

The scholarship, established in Donhauser’s memory in 2007, assists art students pursuing careers in art education or studio arts.
