The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Alumni Association’s Board of Directors elected seven new members and reelected three to serve starting in fall 2017.

The new board members are Joe Ackerman ’12, of Appleton; Lynette (Kreuser) Anderson ’88, of Kenosha; Melanie (Stepanek) Cross ’10, of Oshkosh; Matt Eldred ’08, of Oshkosh; Jim Hoffman ’75 and MS ’82, of Oshkosh; Katie O’Dell ’09 and MSW ’16, of Appleton; and Alison Schneller ’12 and MSN ’14, of Neenah.

Ackerman earned his bachelor’s degree in finance in 2012. During his time at UWO, he was involved in the student finance club. He works as a commercial lender at the Wolf River Community Bank in Greenville.

Anderson is a school counselor at Lake View Technology Academy. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social science from UWO in 1988 and a master’s in curriculum design and instruction as well as school counseling at different institutions. During her time at UWO, she was involved in Alpha Xi Delta, residence hall government, Ski Heilers and the student sociology club.

Cross earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism. During her time at UWO, she was involved in Ad club, Club Nippon and the Public Relations Student Society of America. She works at UWO in the Admissions Office.

Hoffman plans to retire in June from UW Oshkosh as the outreach and special projects coordinator for the College of Education and Human Services. In 2007, he retired after teaching for seven years along with 26 years of administrative experience. He earned a bachelor’s degree in social science and a master’s in education. He is a recipient of the 2016 UW Oshkosh Distinguished Alumni Award.

O’Dell earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s in social work. During her time at UWO, she was involved in the criminal justice student organization and intramural sports. She is a renal social worker with DaVita Dialysis in Green Bay.

Schneller earned a bachelor’s and master’s in nursing with an emphasis in clinical nurse leadership. During her time at UWO, she was involved in the Kakehashi Project, a global youth exchange program, and was a member of Sigma Theta Tau-Eta Pi Chapter. She works at Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital as a lead registered nurse.

Eldred earned a bachelor’s degree in English. During his time at UWO, he participated in intramural athletics. He works for Prospera Credit Union as a branch manager and business development specialist. Eldred is a member of the Oshkosh Southwest Rotary.

Board members who are returning include Victor Alatorre ’97 and MBA ’01, of Oshkosh; Kevin Jaklin ’85 and MBA ’95, of Appleton, treasurer; and Tom Wagner ’86, of Oshkosh.

Alatorre is the director of IT infrastructure at UW Oshkosh; Jaklin is an investment manager for Schenck Investment Solutions LLC; and Wagner is a service representative for Belmark Inc.

All alumni are invited to consider serving on the Alumni Board. Board meetings are held on the UWO campus during the academic year.
