SMEF2017Eighteen students from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Business are preparing for the 17th annual Student-Managed Endowment Fund (SMEF) public presentation.

The presentation will showcase the performance results of the students’ management of the seven portfolios totaling over $684,500 in assets.

Free to the public, the SMEF presentation will be held on Thursday, April 20, at the Alumni Welcome and Conference Center. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m., the presentation begins at 5 p.m.

Designed to strengthen and broaden each student’s academic understanding, the SMEF program, provides hands-on investment management experience. Equipped with a state-of-the-art trading room in Sage Hall, students serve as financial analysts and/or portfolio managers, where they develop and revise each portfolio’s investment policy statement (IPS) and target asset allocation.

From its inception to today, the SMEF program has provided over $205,000 in scholarships and fees.
