wis163992-1_20170315Barbara Cook, a former University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) employee, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 13, 2017.

Barbara had a degree in reading education and served as the Professional Education Program director for many years prior to Jean Inda. During her tenure the education program and curriculum were undergoing a radical shift to new state licensure rules and regulations.

She served as an adviser and curriculum expert, helping to coach students and faculty working in COEHS for more than 10 years. For her service at the University, she earned the University’s Outstanding Service Award in 1997. She retired from the University in 2002.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at Algoma Boulevard United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Friday, March 17, with visitation starting at 2 p.m.
