The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh men’s and women’s basketball teams each earned at-large bids into their respective NCAA Basketball Championships.

Women’s Basketball

girlsThe Titans were selected to host a four-team regional after receiving an at-large berth into the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship on Monday, Feb. 27.

UW Oshkosh is hosting a regional for the second straight year and the third time in the past four season.

UWO, playing in its fourth-straight NCAA Championship, was one of 21 at-large berths into the 64-team field. They host Calvin College (Mich.) during the first round at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 3, in Kolf Sports Center.

Friday’s other first-round matchup in Oshkosh will feature DePauw University (Ind.) opposing Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) at 4:30 p.m.

The winners of Friday’s games will remain in Oshkosh for a 7 p.m. contest on Saturday, March 4.

The Titans own a 25-12 record in 13 previous NCAA tournament appearances. UWO, one of eight women’s programs to win at least one game during each of the last three NCAA Championships, won the 1996 national title after finishing as runners-up in 1995.

 

Ticket prices for the women’s basketball regional games are as follows:

  • Adults $9
  • Senior Citizens (55 or older) $7
  • Students (K-12, college) $5
  • Children (under five) Free

Free tickets for UW Oshkosh’s Friday game are available for UWO students. Students can pick up a free ticket at the athletics administrative suite in Kolf Sports Center starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb, 28, up until game time on Friday. One ticket per student with a valid UWO student ID.

Men’s Basketball

guysThe Titans men’s basketball team is returning to the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship for the second straight season after receiving one of 21 at-large berths to the 64-team national field on Monday, Feb. 27.

The Titans begin play in the first round of the tournament against Hope College on Friday, March 3. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (EST) at Hope College’s Devos Fieldhouse in Holland, Mich.

Friday’s other first-round contest in Holland features Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) battling Ripon College. The winners of Friday’s game will remain in Holland for a contest on Saturday, March 4.

UW Oshkosh is making its seventh NCAA postseason trip and owns a 7-6 record in their previous six appearances. The Titans advanced to the quarterfinal round of the championship in 2003 and to the third round in 2002.
