Gary Ostertag, who works in Parking Services at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, has been named the recipient of the November STAR Award.
He was nominated by Benjamin Richardson, who works in Parking Services as Ostertag’s supervisor at UW Oshkosh.
Ostertag’s nomination follows:
Benjamin Richardson:
“Parking and Transportation Services went through a tough transition over the summer when our lead shuttle driver retired. While in the process of hiring a new driver Gary took on the added responsibilities of driving. Gary stepped up to help without ever hesitating or complaining even though this affected his regular work and shift times. He saw that a job needed to be done and took it on. We would not have been able to provide continuous coverage without him.
Gary has always shown this is the type of character and he should be recognized for the care, compassion, and teamwork he puts forth every day.”
Jerry Klein:
“Gary’s consistent work performance is very positive for our department. His dedication to his position here at UW Oshkosh shows in his daily service for our team. Gary’s flexibility goes a long way in meeting the needs parking services encounters every day. It has been a pleasure to work with Gary for more than a decade. Gary truly is a “star” at UW Oshkosh.”
Dana Hartel:
“Gary is a true team player. When there are things that need to be accomplished, he is always there to help so that the job can be done effectively. He is a quiet and cheerful person who is willing to adjust his work to the needs of the department and to serve our customers. I am thankful that Gary is on our Parking team.”
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
