The following Class Notes were received recently in the UW Oshkosh Alumni Office.

’52 Gloria Wachholz and ’53 (EHS), of Oshkosh, taught kindergarten for 27 years in Oshkosh and three years in Port Washington.

’60 Alice (Mortimer) Kinley (BSE), of Oshkosh, celebrated her 100th birthday on Sept. 24. She taught 49 years, first in rural schools and then at New Holstein Public School.

’61 Charles Hannemann (EHS), of Palmetto Bay, Florida, visited Door Peninsula Winery. The building was originally Carlsville School, where Hannemann taught during his time as a rural school teacher.

’67 Helen Brandt (BS), of Lake Geneva, is the curator at Geneva Lake Museum.

’69 James Marshall (BS), of Germantown, is president and founder of Spectrum Investment Advisors in Mequon. The company was selected as Mequon’s 2015 Business of the Year by the Mequon/Thiensville Chamber of Commerence.

’71 Barbara Berg (BME), of Watertown, is the new pastor at London Moravian Church in Cambridge.

’71 Robert Tetzloff (BBA) and ’72 (MBA), of Rockford, Illinois, retired in July 2015 after 43 years in the aerospace industry serving in customer service contract functions.

’72 Patrick Higgins (BS), of New Providence, New Jersey, retired as vice president of operations at RP Bennett Custom Builders LLC.

’72 Nancy Pitzen (BS), of Fond du Lac, retired after 38 years with Fond du Lac County’s Child Support Agency. She received the Hall of Fame Award from the Wisconsin Child Support Association for her service to the association, Fond du Lac County and Wisconsin families.

’72 Thomas Sobocinski (BS), of Hales Corners, has worked in the healthcare industry for 50 years.

’75 Gary Beyer (BBA) and ’80 (MBA), of Oshkosh, presented his 182nd inspirational speech and authored two books. In 2008, he was diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis, a rare muscle disease without a cure.

’75 Tim Schmid (BS), of Shawano, has been a partner with Aschenbrener, Woods, Schmid and Sloma, S.C. since 1981.

’76 Max Harrington (MSE), of Plainfield, has been supporting the Plainfield community and Waushara County with his wife, Pat, for more than 50 years. He taught special education for Tri-County Area schools.

’76 Jeanne (Womaski) Tondryk, of Oshkosh, reopened her special event company in Oshkosh and produced the Time of Your Life Senior Expo in October at the Oshkosh Convention Center.

’76 James Zeirke (BS), of Sussex, recently returned from his 22nd mission trip to eastern Kentucky with the Christian Appalachian Project (CAP). He has been serving with CAP for 17 years, building and repairing homes in impoverished areas of the U.S.

’78 Patricia Popke (BS), of New London, works part-time at Familiar Grounds coffee and gift shop in New London. She also gives private singing lessons.

’79 Sharon Mullarkey (BBA), of Mansfield, Texas, was awarded a patent in 2015 as the co-inventor of hand/foot rest, an ergonomic tool made in the U.S. It is used by beauty and medical professionals for manicures, pedicures, massage therapy and podiatry.

’80 Russ Van Gompel (BBA), of Eau Claire, will serve as Mondovi’s interim city administrator.

’80 Greg Stahl (BS), of Centennial, Colorado, retired as patrol division commander from the Auraria Police Department in Denver, Colorado, after 31 years of service.

’85 Mark Miller (BS), of Appleton, was inducted into Xavier High School’s Hall of Fame for success as a high school sports writer, contributions to the community, leadership and commitment to the Catholic faith. He is the boys’ basketball editor for WisSports.net.

’87 Cathy Allard (BS), of Kalispell, Montana, is a career adviser at Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell.

’87 Richard Pues (BBA), of Milwaukee, is a full-time lecturer at UW-Whitewater in supply chain management. He has worked as a part-time lecturer there since 2005.

’88 David Price (LS), of Bemidji, Minnesota, is a wildlife biologist at Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians. He primarily collars wolves to collect data on habitat use, pack numbers, number of packs, pack interactions and dispersal events of individuals.

’89 Mark Voight (BS), of Auburndale, Florida, is working as a probation officer for the state of Florida.

’91 Jane (Morgan) Gennerman (BSE), of Menomonee Falls, was inducted into Westfield High School’s 2016 Athletic Hall of Fame, where she was a three-sport athlete. As a softball player at UW Oshkosh, she earned NCAA Division III All-America honors as a pitcher and competed in the 1988 Division III College World Series.

’91 Jeff Matczak (BSE), of Kaukauna, has been selected as the recipient of the 2015-2016 National Federation of High School Associations Wrestling Coach of the Year Award for Wisconsin.

’91 Joe Verdegan (BS), of Green Bay, wrote his second book “Wisconsin International Raceway: Where The Big Ones Run!” to be released on Dec. 3. It focuses on the history of the race track in Kaukauna. His first book “Life In The Past Lane” is about the history of stock car racing in northeastern Wisconsin from 1950 to 1980.

’92 David Penepent (BS), of Norwood, New York, is the director and assistant professor of the Funeral Services Administration Program at the State University of New York at Canton. In January he received a doctorate in management from Walden University.

’93 Joy Merbach (BS), of Hilbert, is a supervisor with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

’94 Karen Larsen (BFA), of Lake Geneva, is driving for Uber as a part-time job.

’01 Melissa Cummings (BSE), of Hortonville, is a new fifth-grade teacher at Hortonville Middle School. She has nine years of experience with the Green Bay Public Schools.

’05 Michael Raymond (BSN) and ’15 (MSN), of Oshkosh, is president and multimedia journalist at Imagine Road Production in Oshkosh. He provides legacy and documentary video for individuals, families and organizations.

’08 Teresa Chouinard (BSN), of Beaver Dam, is a nurse practitioner at Agnesian Work and Wellness at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

’08 Jessica (Harrington) Johnson (BS) and ’14 (MSW), of Neenah, is the service coordinator at Lutheran Social Services in Neenah.

’12 Elisa Menzer (BS), of Sheboygan, married Kevin Menzer ’11 (BS) on July 5, 2014.

’12 Maren Raab (BS), of Marshfield, graduated from veterinary school in May and works as an associate veterinarian at Marshfield Veterinary Service.

’13 Grace Hennig (BA), of New Ulm, Minnesota, co-founded a new chamber music series called Summit Avenue Music. Performers at the inaugural concert included UWO music faculty Eli Kalman, Bruce Atwell and Yuliya Smeed.

’14 Tina Truehart (BS), of Appleton, is a property manager for Appleton Housing Authority’s Oneida Heights affordable living complex.

’15 Carley Gussert (BSE), of Wrightstown, is a first-grade teacher at Wrightstown Elementary.
