The following Class Notes were received recently in the UW Oshkosh Alumni Office.

’67 Carolyn Rosenberger (BAE), of Iola, will have her watercolor artwork featured at the Waupaca Community Arts Center until Oct. 18.

’79 Greg Peck (LS), of Janesville, retired as opinion page editor of The Janesville Gazette.

’79 Cheryl Staats (BS), of Milwaukee, retired after 36 years as a public school special education teacher in Wisconsin.

’82 Robert J. Snyder (BS), of Platteville, is the recipient of UW-Platteville’s 2016 Faculty Teaching Excellence Award.

’84 Shelly Weisheipl (BSN), of Oshkosh, will provide obstetrics/gynecology care at ThedaCare Physicians-Berlin and ThedaCare Physicians-Ripon as a nurse midwife.

’85 Karla Stark (BS), of Oshkosh, will be co-chairing the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Oshkosh on Sept. 18.

’88 Hew Cheong Yew (BBA), of Selangor, Malaysia, has been involved in humanitarian work since the Indian Ocean tsunamis in 2004.

’92 Robert Croeker (BS), of Kenosha, was promoted to lieutenant of the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and is currently the Kenosha county jail administrator.

’92 Tamara (Cook) Dever (BFA), of Austin, Texas, is a book designer who has received more than 180 awards individually or through her company, TLC Graphics. She recently published her book My Publishing Journey, which encourages authors to record their publishing journeys.

’92 Brenda Mendolla-Buckley (BS), of Green Bay, is the marketing director at Oneida Casino, after acting as interim marketing director since 2012.

’93 Kyle Clark (MPA), of Waupun, stepped down as Waupun mayor at the end of July. In his 33 years with Waupun, he has been city clerk, treasurer, city administrator and mayor.

’01 Meghan Hermann (BA), of Sydney, Australia, is a not-for-profit fundraising manager at OzHarvest, an organization that collects excess food and delivers it to people in need.

’01 Roger Roth (LS), of Appleton, was awarded the Alumni Achievement Award by St. Mary Catholic High School where he graduated in 1996. Roth served in the Wisconsin Assembly 2006-2008 and was elected to the state Senate in 2014.

’02 Brian Horn (EHS), of Muskego, assisted Burlington High School’s baseball coach Scott Staude in winning the WIAA Division 1 state baseball title. Horn is a former Titan baseball player who specializes in defense.

’04 Jennifer Resch (N) and (MSN) ’11, of Menasha, works in Affinity Medical Groups’ family medicine department in New London.

’08 Lindsay Bahn (N), of Oshkosh, completed an assignment with the U.S. Air Force stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. She now practices as a certified nurse midwife at Aurora Health Care in Oshkosh, and will start at UW Milwaukee in the fall to earn a doctorate in public health.

’08 Carol Veltus (BSN), of Kaukauna, works at Affinity Health System and Ministry Health Care’s endocrinology department in Menasha, providing medical care and self-management training to patients with diabetes and other endocrine disorders.

’09 Martin Spicer (BME), of Pardeeville, completed his first year as a band teacher with the New Lisbon school district.

’13 Katelyn Fischer (LS), of Colfax, Iowa, has accepted a position as the inpatient physical therapist at Grinnell Regional Medical Center in Grinnell, Iowa. She graduated from UW-La Crosse with a doctor of physical therapy degree last May.

’13 Mike Schmidt (MBA), of Green Bay, was named director of strategic growth and business development at BayCare Clinic.

’14 Derek Groth (B), of Oshkosh, has worked at the Health Care Credit Union for two years and was selected to go to the credit union league. He has gained scholarships through the credit union to attend other training throughout Wisconsin.

’14 Beth Schmit (LS), of Appleton, is a new personal trainer at Bellin Health Bond Community Center. She has been a personal trainer with Bellin Health Fitness Center Ashwaubenon for more than two years.

’15 Kyle Ellefson (MPA), of Kewaunee, is Johnson Creek’s new village administrator.

’16 Joanna Wavrunek (LS), of Denmark, is the new social media specialist at the Dairy Business Association.
