The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh community will come together for a vigil at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, June 16, to mourn and remember the victims of the Orlando tragedy.

The vigil will be held on the Albee Hall patio, which is located on the back side of the hall near the Reeve Memorial Union mall. The vigil is sponsored by the UW Oshkosh Office of Equity and Affirmative Action, the Division of Academic Support of Inclusive Excellence, and the LGBTQ Resource Center.

Earlier this week, UW Oshkosh Chancellor Andrew Leavitt issued a statement asking the campus community to reaffirm its commitment to inclusive excellence.

“Our campus makes strides every day to improve the culture and experience for all members of the Titan community, but we have a long way to go. We must remain diligent and continue to take action. We cannot allow these acts of hate to continue,” Leavitt wrote in his statement to campus.
