The following Class Notes were received recently in the UW Oshkosh Alumni Office.

’69 Robert Meisel (BS), of Alpine, Calif., is Clintonville Public School District’s 2016 recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Honoris award. He spent 31 years with the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve and also practiced as an optometrist in San Diego, Calif.

’74 John Hlava (LS), of Moreno Valley, Calif., is a retired school teacher and completed his 11th book called The Ultimate Injustice.

’74 Stan Kirschbaum (BS), of Beaver Dam, is owner of  Kirschbaum Strawberry Acres. He started the farm as a hobby in 1980 and then expanded to its current location on Highway 151 south of Beaver Dam. He is past president of the Wisconsin Berry Growers Association.

’77 Paul Swanson (BBA), of Oshkosh, an attorney and partner with the firms of Steinhilber, Swanson, Mares, Marone and McDermott in Oshkosh and Steinhilber, Swanson, Resop and Sipsma in Madison, was elected president of the state bar of Wisconsin.

’84 Michelle (Gille) Raemisch (LS), of Dubuque, Iowa, reached 30 years of employment at McCullough Creative in Dubuque, where she is a copy editor and page composition specialist.

’98 Kregg Shilbauer (LS), of Green Bay, has been promoted to director of digital, production and game presentation for the Green Bay Packers.

’98 Steve Sukawaty (BS), of Marshfield, was named principal of Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Port Washington.

’00 Kevin Eggert (BBA), of Appleton, has purchased the Granary Supper Club located in Sherwood. It was recently named one of the top 10 supper clubs in Wisconsin.

’02 Joanna (Straub) Bannon (BS), of Port Washington, will be the new principal of Dunwiddie Elementary School, starting July 1.

’02 Corey Baumgartner (EHS) and ’05 (MSE), of Kiel, is the new principal of Kaukauna High School beginning July 1.

’03 Erin Krebs (BME), of Appleton, was nominated by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry for Female Vocalist of the Year. Krebs, along with her accompanying musicians, does jazz and blues performances across Wisconsin.

’05 Jon Hurley (BBA), of Sturgeon Bay, is vice president of sales and purchasing for his family’s company Pro Products Inc., located in the Sturgeon Bay Industrial Park.

’13 Jason Coenen (LS), of Sycamore, sailed on the JOIDES Resolution as a diatom biostratigrapher from February to March 2016. The team collected sediment cores from six different sites off the coast of South Africa and Mozambique to better understand ocean circulation over the past 5-7 million years.

’14 Alex Beld (LS), of Milwaukee, is a new staff reporter at the Daily News in West Bend.
