The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh has embarked on the critical journey of implementing a new, forward-looking strategic plan that will focus on our core priorities of student success, academic excellence, campus effectiveness, and our impact on the community, state and world.
Strategic planning is about what the University is capable of doing and how the campus and community work together to accomplish it.
Within this plan, a new and exciting future is identified for UW Oshkosh as a research-enhanced comprehensive university. This identifier elevates the research already being done and puts an even greater emphases on it. It will also drive innovation and responsiveness in the curriculum, another key focus of the strategic plan.
At the heart of the plan remains the student. Student success, education, preparedness, experience and support system is infused throughout the plan, which is titled “Transforming UW Oshkosh.”
Vision
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will be a research-enhanced comprehensive university built upon the ideals of a liberal education, inclusive excellence and shared governance that reinforces a nationally recognized emphasis on sustainability.
Four key priorities that will drive UW Oshkosh toward this vision:

- Community Engagement and Economic Development
- Inclusive Excellence and Supportive Institutional Environment
The goals within each priority are future oriented, measurable and inclusive of the foundational elements that are the essence of UW Oshkosh: inclusive excellence, shared governance, liberal education and sustainability.
