The following Class Notes were received recently in the UW Oshkosh Alumni Office.

’60 Thomas Fuszard (LS), of Chico, Calif., retired after 54 years as a corporate communications consultant, speechwriter and speaker coach.

’66 George Karamitis (LS), of Avon Park, Fla., returned to Wisconsin to talk about his experience being part of the airline group that escorted the first pope to ever stay overnight in the United States. He retired from Trans World Airlines as a senior captain.

’71 Barbara Leslie (LS), of Madison, is retiring after 45 years at Goodwill. She has served as president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of South Central Wisconsin for the past 22 years.

’71 Judith (Mulvey) Osier (LS) and ’73 (MA), of Menasha, is retiring from Neenah Public Library after 51 years in youth cataloging and acquisitions.   

’74 Evan Fisher (EHS), of Watertown, performed with his wife, ’77 Andrea Fisher (LS), and five children for the Fisher Family Christmas at the Jefferson High School auditorium. He is a former high school band director and she is a piano and Kindermusik teacher.

’74 James Hilt (MSE), of Sheboygan, republished his book “How to Have a Better Relationship with Anybody” into an ebook with Moody Publication.

’77 Michael Langenhorst (LS), of Sturgeon Bay, was the guest speaker for “Soar on Wings Like Eagles” program held during the St. John School Annual Fall Banquet.

’88 Connie Lasher (LS), of Molino, Fla., was hired as a staff environmental scientist for Dewberry in the Pensacola, Fla. office. She has been an academic advisory board member for the University of West Florida Environmental Studies since 2001.

’93 Jay Larson (B), of Tomah, is a partner with Alpine Financial Consultants of Thrivent Financial. He has been with Thrivent Financial for over 21 years.

’97 Amanda Potratz (EHS) and ’02 (MS), of Oshkosh, was hired as a business manager for the Chilton Public School District.

’98 Drew Schultz (N), of Madison, was hired as a field nurse case manager with Coventry Workers Compensation, a division of Aetna Insurance.

’98 Luke Whitburn (LS), of Waunakee, is the vice president of the Friends of the Madison Public Library Central Library chapter, which runs the Friend’s Book Store and the Central Library book sales.

’00 Kelli Clussman (LS), of Wisconsin Dells, is the new executive director of the Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce, headquartered in Kaukauna.

’01 Emmet Sandberg (LS), of Green Lake, will have his work on display in the Thrasher Annex gallery in downtown Green Lake. He is an assistant professor of art and coordinator of the Gail Floether-Steinhilber Gallery at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

’02 Shawn Robinson (EHS), of Madison, earned a doctoral degree from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee in literacy and language. He previously earned a master’s degree in school counseling from DePaul University.

’03 Rev. Luke Strand (B), of Brookfield, is the director of vocations for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. He also serves as chaplain of the UW Milwaukee Newman Center. He recently was a guest speaker at the Women of Christ Conference in Milwaukee.

’04 Susan VanEngen (EHS), of Deland, Fla., was awarded the 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year at Manatee Cove Elementary in Orange City, Fla.

’06 Torell Geffers (LS), of Delavan, laboratory manager for the Fontana Walworth Pollution Control Commission, received the Wisconsin Wastewater Operators Association Koby Crabtree Award for excellence in technical support in wastewater management.

’06 Abby (Burlingame) Meddaugh (LS), of Waukesha, was promoted to student conduct director at Carroll University in Waukesha.

’09 Sharon Kaplon (N) and ’15 (DNP), of Chilton, joined the team of primary care providers at Calumet Medical Center Clinic.

’11 Christina Peerenboom (EHS), of Neenah, was hired as the youth services librarian for Reedsburg Public Library.

’12 Katrina Martz (LS), of Oshkosh, is a Marshfield Clinic Volunteer Wisconsin AmeriCorps member, serving at Omro Area Community Center.

’14 Noell Dickmann (LS), of Jackson, released her debut EP “Hush” in October.

’15 Joshua Tegen (LS), of Oshkosh, is an economic developer for the City of Oshkosh. He oversees both industrial parks and property marketing strategic planning.

’15 Grace Wardin (LS), of Bath, Mich., was hired by the State of Michigan as an application developer/IT programmer for the Department of Technology, Management and Budget. Her team supports the Michigan Department of Education.
