The following Class Notes were received recently in the UW Oshkosh Alumni Office.

’65 Margaret Schmid (LS), of Silvis, Ill., retired in 2001 after 22 years of teaching math at Black Hawk College in Moline, Ill.

’71 Jeffrey Dworak (EHS), of Kewaunee, was honored as a Kewaunee Rotary Club “Person of the Year 2015” with his wife, Mary Jo Stangel.

’72 Robert Stat (LS), of Lake Worth, Fla., retired from teaching elementary school in February. He will continue as a substitute teacher and tutor, and stay involved in the local community.

’73 Michael Falkner (EHS), of West Bend, is the statistician for Fox Sports Wisconsin. He keeps track of teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and the Milwaukee Brewers.

’74 Steven Verhulst (LS), of Springfield, Ill., was named the 2015 Outstanding Scholar at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. He is a professor and director of statistics and research informatics in the Center for Clinical Research.

’76 Roger Humphrey (B), of Fort Atkinson, was recognized by the Fort Atkinson Lions Club with the 2014 Distinguished Community Service Award. He’s owned Humphrey Floral and Gift for three-and-a-half decades.

 ’79 Mary Krabbe (MSE), of Seymour, has owned her used bookstore, The Crabbe Reader, for almost 20 years. She opened her business after retiring from a 20-year teaching career in the Shiocton School District.

 ’84 Tim Miller (LS), of Kyle, Texas, won a state-wide selection for a Producer of the 2015 Blue Legacy Award for Water Conservation. His farm is a certified organic and offers workshops to local citizens.

 ’89 Susan (Pollard) Baganz (LS), of Fond du Lac, published her debut novel, Pesto & Potholes. It’s available in print and ebook formats. She dedicated the novel to University of Wisconsin Oshkosh psychology professor Robert Lane.

’89 Brenda (Yatso) Lowrance (N), of Phoenix, Ariz., was named a Mountain West region finalist in the clinical care, inpatient category for the 2015 Nurse.com Giving Excellence Meaning award, a national honor for outstanding nurses. She served as a registered nurse senior manager at Banner-University Medical Center for eight years, and has worked at BUMCP for 24 years.

’89 Kent Orfan (LS), of Sun Prairie, was appointed to the board of directors for the Bank of Sun Prairie. He has owned e-Media Resources, an Internet marketing, web design and software development company, for 14 years.

’92 Trisha Witt (LS), of Menasha, is the new director of marketing and communications for the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.

’94 Erich Utrie (EHS), of Jefferson, is an adviser for a student team that won the 2015 School Year Challenge in the state Stock Market Simulation. The team of seventh-grade boys from Jefferson Middle School managed a stock portfolio that outperformed middle and high school teams from across Wisconsin.

’94 Donna (Titze) Yellen (LS), of Saukville, was named the new community outreach director at Newcastle Place, a senior living community in Mequon.

’99 Trisha (Talley) Hammer (LLCE), of Oshkosh, is the new director of purchasing for Winnebago Industries. Previously, she worked for Oshkosh Corporation for 14 years.

’06 Alan Dewitt (MBA), of Marinette, joined the Thrivent Financial team as a financial representative for the East Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Regional Financial Office.

’08 Vincent King (LS), of Ripon, was honored with the 2014 Outstanding Manager Award from the McDonald’s corporation, which recognizes the top 10 percent of restaurant managers in the country. His store is in Berlin.

’10 Luke Menet (N) and ’14 (MSN), of Appleton, joined the Ministry Medical Group, providing services at Ministry Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley as a hospitalist.

’12 Andrew Ingebrigtson (B), of Jackson, accepted a recruiting consultant position at Firstech, a company dedicated to helping businesses find engineering, supply chain and manufacturing professionals.

’12 Jayson Smith (B), of Oshkosh, joined the Coldwell Banker Cotter Realty team as a sales associate.

’15 Jason Brown (LLCE), of Janesville, was selected to serve on the City of Janesville Zoning Board of Appeals. In 2014, he was honored as the Correctional Officer of the Year for Rock County. He is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran.

’15 Leslie Clark (B), of Kimberly, is the new associate director of marketing and communications for Mersberger Financial Group.
