University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Chancellor Andrew J. Leavitt issued the following on Feb. 11, 2015:

“It’s time to leverage the expertise we have on this campus to solve real problems. We need to make sure we have information when and where we need it—and in a timely manner. With that, I want to introduce the concept of Chancellor’s Study Groups, something you may have heard me mention in the recent budget sessions.

“Chancellor’s Study Groups are small groups made up of three to five individuals selected based on their expertise in the subject matter. These study groups take advantage of the academic culture of this institution and put our best and brightest minds to work on problems and opportunities. The deliverable from a charged group will be a white paper outlining research and options to inform decision-making.

“The first Chancellor’s Study Group has already been charged and is focused on options for campus wide budgeting. This group replaces a much larger team that had formally been charged with providing guidance on this topic. The new group is made up of Lori Worm, associate vice chancellor of administrative services; M. Ryan Haley, professor of economics; Fred Yeo, dean of the College of Education and Human Services; and John Koker, dean of the College of Letters and Science.”
