It is the time of year when, over the span of just a few days, a group of visitors equivalent to the population of many Wisconsin small cities pays the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh a visit.

The 35th annual Oshkosh Placement Exchange (OPE) takes place at Gruenhagen Conference Center from Feb. 27 through March 2.

The OPE is a job-placement event drawing hundreds of candidates from around the United States for student affairs positions at institutions from all corner of the country. University employers set up camp at Gruenhagen for what has easily become one of the largest higher education job placement exchanges in the nation.

Gruenhagen Conference Center Director Marc Nylen and his team anticipate about 1,200 OPE guests on campus for the exchange.

“It is such an honor to host these hundreds of prospective employees and employers who have come to rely on UW Oshkosh and Gruenhagen to provide a quality exchange,” Nylen said. “Our team has worked hard on behalf of UW Oshkosh to, over the last 35 years, make participants from across the nation feel at home, helping them make the connections that are critical to help drive their universities and colleges. We have a great tradition and reputation.”

UW Oshkosh’s Residence Life staff collaborated on a new promotional video for the 35th annual event.

Once again this year, OPE will provide the backdrop, facilities and logistics to help make matches between participating employee candidates and university and college employers offering opportunities to manage residence halls, oversee Greek life programs and grow and serve their university and college enrollments.

This year’s OPE will also feature a celebration of UW Oshkosh and Residence Life alumni returning for the 35th milestone anniversary, Nylen said.

OPE is also proud to feature a major sponsorship and partnership with local company 4imprint, which is offering tours of their downtown Oshkosh headquarters to guests and UW Oshkosh staff. The four-day event also will feature a panel of eight student affairs professionals from throughout the United States the evening of Feb. 27, Nylen said.
