The following Class Notes were received recently in the UW Oshkosh Alumni Office:

’64 Antoinette (Harder) Durben (EHS) and ’80 (MSE), of Appleton, recently retired as a kindergarten teacher and is traveling to Australia and New Zealand.

’66 Donald Roll (EHS) and ’74 (MSE), of Mayville, has retired as Town of Williamstown Clerk in Dodge County after 42 years.

’68 Robert Badura (LS), of Fond du Lac, is retiring and has sold his donut business, Bob and Bonnie’s after 35 years.

’72 Thomas Sphatt
(LS), of The Villages, Fla., was awarded Life Fellow status by the American College of Healthcare Executives for more than 40 years of service in healthcare administration.

’74 Steven Harman (LS), of Dublin, Calif., owns Steven A. Harman Associates. In September 2013, he was honored by the International Public Management Association for Human Resources with the Honorary Life Membership Award.

’74 John Hlava (LS), of Moreno Valley, Calif., has completed his third book called Why Johnny, Why? It is a personal story about his activities growing up and while attending UWO.

’79 Gregory Peck (LS), of Janesville, has revised his book titled Death beyond the Willows. He also has worked for The Gazette in Janesville for 26 years and serves as the opinion page editor.

’87 Richard Wessenberg (B), of Cheyenne, Wyo., will be releasing his book Treasures of the Believing Heart on March 11 through Tate Publishing.

’90 Dorene Johnson (LS), of Kansas City, Mo., has published a book titled A Missing Piece of the Pie­—Finding Myself after Adoption with Tate Publishing.

’90 Martin ‘Marty’ Loy (MSE), of Stevens Point, The Dean at College of Professional Studies for UW-Stevens Point has co-authored a book titled Losing a Parent to Suicide.

’94 Thomas Gardner (EHS), of Sheboygan, was elected to the Wisconsin State Baseball League Hall of Fame.

’94 Karla Huston (EHS) and ’03 (MA), of Appleton, is the author of seven chapbooks of poetry, two of which were published in 2013 titled Outside of a Dog and A Theory of Lipstick.

’98 Paul Northway (MBA), of De Pere, is the senior vice president of the American National Bank Fox Cities.

’98 Amy (Bird) Reed (EHS) and ’07 (MS), of Oshkosh, has attained her National Board Certification awarded by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

’00 Aaron Allie (LS), of Waupaca, owns Personal Trainer Aaron, located above Adventure Outfitters in Waupaca.

’01 Ryan Faris (EHS), of Fond du Lac, is the girls’ basketball coach at Random Lake and also teaches social studies at Random Lake High School.

’02 Connon Piencikowski (LS), of Pound, opened a new chiropractic clinic, Bayside Chiropractic in Marinette.

’03 Susan (Bayer-Jabb) Bayer (B), of Oshkosh, was elected as secretary of a condominium association.

’04 Todd ‘TJ’ Searl (LS), of Los Angeles, Calif., accepted a role with the art department on the Fox television series The Mindy Project.

’07 Timothy Ernst (LS), of Neenah, has returned to UWO as a professor in the communication department.

’08 Zachary Cotter (B), of Sheboygan, works at Gannett Wisconsin Media as a digital retail sales manager.

’08 Lindsay Tornow (B), of Clintonville, was hired by Tigerton School District as the head bookkeeper and office manager.

’09 Steven Bailey (LS), of Portland, Ore., has been named president of ProPRcopy, one of the nation’s largest copywriting firms.

’09 Joshua Miller (LS), of West Bend, has written for the Shepherd Express, The Onion A.V Club, Relix and American Songwriter.

’09 Kyla Morris (LS), of Oshkosh and ’09 Mike Heyer (LS), of Wausau, have open The Backlot Comedy House in Oshkosh.

’10 Anthony Wahl (LS), of Brodhead, a staff photographer at The Monroe Times had his work featured at the Monroe Clinic. His photography has been published in a variety of news publications and has won several awards through the Wisconsin News Photographers Association and Wisconsin Newspaper Association.

’13 Ryan Burg (LLCE), of Sheboygan, was elected to the Sheboygan Area School District Board of Education in April 2012.
