The Environmental Research Innovation Center (ERIC) at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh will hold an open house Oct. 29 from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the facility, which is located at 783 Pearl Ave. on campus.

Participants can experience first-hand the groundbreaking technology and research capabilities now available to the general public, municipalities, businesses and industries through the ERIC.

After extensive renovations, the Aquatic Research Lab at UW Oshkosh reopened in January 2012 as the ERIC. The ERIC has expanded its research and testing capabilities beyond testing well water quality and recreational water quality of Great Lakes and inland beaches around Wisconsin.

UW Oshkosh is now home to the first commercial-scale, anaerobic dry fermentation digester in the Americas, as well as a partner to local Wisconsin dairy farmers utilizing the same digester technology. As the premier testing facility for these digesters, the ERIC has since developed unique experience and expertise in biosolid testing, biogas testing and digester operation and research found nowhere else this side of the globe.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
