University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s postal services manager Barry Gauthier was recognized with a Lou Eichler Award of Excellence at the recent National Association of College and University Mail Services (NACUMS) conference.

The annual conference was held in Austin, Texas July 14 through July 17. The excellence award is the highest honor bestowed by NACUMS and is in recognition of a lifetime of achievement in the professional field of college and university mailing services. Those awarded have significant accomplishments in college or university mailing that make an impact on the industry.

Gauthier has been with UW Oshkosh since the early 1970s; he began leading postal operations in 1978. A NACUMS member since 1996, Gauthier has held multiple terms as an elected director and was recently elected to a new two-year term as the organization’s vice president.

Currently, Gauthier serves as an appointed director of the University Mail Managers Association (UMMA) and as the communications committee chairperson for NACUMS.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
