Amanda Ziesemer, Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) program assistant, has been named the recipient of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh August STAR Award.

Ziesemer was nominated by Lynne Elder. Portions of her nomination follow.

“As a new member of the Human Resources team, I had the opportunity to work with Amanda regarding payment for staff serving as liaisons for the CAPP program.

“CAPP coursework and payment for services may cover any part of the academic year. The workload and number of employees is very fluid as course headcounts for each semester are finalized. Ensuring that staff receive payment for work in a timely fashion requires clear communication between Amanda and Human Resources.

“Amanda was open to meet early in the fall semester to work out the best process for providing the needed information. She developed a spreadsheet that was very effective in monitoring all staff and the payments they were to receive. The spreadsheet allowed for clear communication and tracking of payments for the program. Amanda was also willing to provide this data on personnel transaction forms (PTFs) – specific to each person. The PTFs allow for historical documentation in the individual’s personnel file.”

The CSAC Awards & Recognition Committee submitted this announcement. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today.
