Kate McQuillan, a program assistant in the Provost Office, has been named the recipient of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh June STAR Award.
McQuillan was nominated by April Dutschek. Portions of her nomination follow.
“Kate has become an incredible addition to the Provost Office. After the retirement of a great colleague, Kristy DeBolt, Kate has not only filled her shoes, but gone above and beyond in so many ways, especially with additional work duties.
“She has taken the time to learn all that is required with great detail, as well as undertake new projects. Her most recent amazement if you will…is her incredible attention to detail with the new University Studies Program.
“Kate was the hub of all paperwork and courses for this new program, as it all came across her desk for her recording purposes and preparation prior to review by the University Studies Program Committee. She made certain it was all logged and assisted so many staff in a large variety of ways. She worked diligently with Lori Carrell, all of the college offices, Registrar staff, the Senate office, and AVC Carleen Vande Zande to keep all these angels together to help as many of these courses proceed as needed.
“The time frame that came with the first stage of implementation for USP was almost impossible, but due to Kate’s amazing organization, persistence, and eye for detail, the USP Program had a successful first year. She not only does this work all with incredible precision, but she also does it with a friendly, professional, and extremely likable personality. She is always willing to help how she can, and I think UWO is a better place with her here! I believe she is more than deserving of this award, and would be honored to see her receive it.”
