The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh celebrates the 40th anniversary of Earth Day with a week of sustainability-oriented activities. UW Oshkosh students, Los Angeles-based organization RuckusRoots and artist Robin Guttman created a “TRASH-formation,” using sustainable art out of the University’s waste. Students enrolled in Environmental Studies 390 also sorted and analyzed trash to see what the University could have reused, recycled or composted. Other Earth Week events included an address by Chancellor Richard H. Wells, 40 tree plantings, screenings of documentaries and a cleanup of the Fox River.
