The following announcements were supplied by the Office of Grants and Faculty Development:

  • UW Oshkosh received $8,309 from the University of Kentucky Research Foundation for Year 2 of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation project “Delivering a Tool for Ae polynesiensis Population Replacement in French Polynesia.” Michelle Michalski (biology/microbiology) is the project director.
  • Maria Carvalho (international education) will attend the Association of International Educators Conference in Kansas City, Mo. from May 30 to June 4. She received support through the Faculty Development Program’s Academic Staff Component.
  • Crystal Mueller (English) will attend the International Writing Centers Association Summer Institute in Lone Wolf, Okla., from July 25 to 30. She received support through the Faculty Development Program’s Academic Staff Component.
  • UW Oshkosh received $95,770 from the National Science Foundation for Year 3 of “REU Site: Research Experiences for Undergraduates in Proteomics and Functional Genomics at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.” This brings the total award for this project to $286,167. Lisa Dorn (biology/microbiology) is the project director.
