The ninth-annual MajorFest will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 15, in the Reeve Memorial Union Ballroom. High school students will attend from 10 to 11 a.m. during Preview Day.

MajorFest is designed to assist the nearly 35 percent of first-year students who have not declared a major as well as those students who are considering a change of major or minor or applying for graduate school. MajorFest brings staff from the Undergraduate Advising Resource Center, Counseling Center, Career Planning & Placement Center and Admissions together, along with faculty from most every department on campus.

Academic departments are asked to create interactive displays to represent their programs and have people on hand to answer student questions about various majors.  This year, the theme for MajorFest is “Taste of Majors: Come and spice up your future at MajorFest.”

“Year after year, students comment that they enjoy getting useful information from supportive faculty and staff members in a relaxed atmosphere,” said Erin Anderson, co-chair of MajorFest.  “If that’s not reason enough for students to attend, there also will be free food and big prizes donated by local merchants.”

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to contribute calendar items, campus announcements and other good news to UW Oshkosh Today. Click here to submit.
