In 2012, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh community members took to the city bus like never before, collectively logging enough miles to circle the Earth more than 13 times.

UW Oshkosh community members chose to take GO Transit’s buses in 2012 for more than 101,000 rides, a record number for the public transit system which launched its ridership-boosting collaboration with the University in 2000.

The city of Oshkosh and University held a joint press conference to tout the milestone on Feb. 4 in Reeve Memorial Union. Here, Oshkosh City Manager Mark Rohloff and UW Oshkosh Chancellor Richard Wells share some thoughts on the value of the GO Transit collaboration to the institution, its students and employees and to the city in which they live and work…
