The following announcements were supplied by the Office of Grants and Faculty Development:
- Byron Adams, Academic Support and Diversity, attended the Educational Policy Institutes Retention 101 annual conference in Tucson, Arizona, Oct. 21-23. He received support through the Faculty Development Program’s academic staff component.
- UW Oshkosh received an award of $83,385 through National Science Foundation Small Business Technology Transfer (NSF-STTR) program. This cooperative technology agreement between Oshkosh Nanotechnology LLC, a start-up by chemistry professor Charles Gibson, and chemistry senior researcher Annamalai Karthikeyan targets development and commercialization of high performance electrical energy storage devices using composite nanomaterials. This is the first technology spin-off at UW Oshkosh.
- UW Oshkosh received $172,404 from U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services and UW-Green Bay for a project titled “IV-E Long Term Child Welfare Training.” Quintin Sullivan, social work, is the project director for UW Oshkosh.
