Due to Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh on the morning of Friday, Oct. 26, accommodations have been made to welcome guests and enhance safety.

Beginning Thursday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m. Albee Hall will be closed. Faculty, students and staff who utilize Albee need to be aware of the following:

  • Locks must be removed from the lockers in the locker room by Thursday at 12 p.m. as a safety precaution. After a sweep of the building is complete, lockers will be closed and relocked.
  • The Albee Fitness Center will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 3 until 5:30 p.m. and on Friday, Oct. 26 from 6 until 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Fitness Center will reopen Friday, Oct. 26 from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday’s Pilates class and Friday’s Zumba and Step classes have been cancelled.
  • Those who usually use Albee Hall can utilize the Student Rec and Wellness Center during the hours Albee is closed. Please bring a photo ID.

 

Access to some campus walkways and sidewalks surrounding Albee may be restricted during the Vice President’s rally Friday morning between 10 a.m. and Noon.

Also, ticketed guests for the rally will be directed to specific parking locations on campus.

Friday is also an Admissions department Preview Day at UW Oshkosh. University faculty, staff and students should be prepared to build in a bit of extra time during their morning commutes given the expected,  increased vehicle traffic on and around campus Friday.
