The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) has declared Tuesday, Oct. 20, the National Day on Writing. In celebration of the day, the UW Oshkosh Writing Center has established a NCTE Gallery to showcase writing at our institution. In doing so, the Writing Center joins over 800 other institutions, groups and communities who also will feature a gallery for their members.
The UW Oshkosh gallery, named “Creative Thought at UW Oshkosh,” is dedicated to the creative thought process. Submissions might be examples of creative thought at work or might be descriptions of how creative thought works in the writing process. All disciplines at UW Oshkosh require creative thought, as the gallery will highlight. Submissions can be writing that involved creative thought or a description of how creative thought helps in work at the University.
Visit http://galleryofwriting.org/galleries/247320 to contribute a sample of writing to the UW Oshkosh Gallery. Create a profile and follow the instructions to make your submission on or before Oct. 15 to allow time for them to be reviewed. Celebrate the National Day on Writing by visiting the UW Oshkosh Gallery Oct. 20.
